Raser campaign in Vienna: Police stops illegal street races!
Mariahilfer Gürtel, Wien, Österreich - A dangerous illegal street race ended in Vienna when two Serbs were stopped by the police. In the night of Wednesday, more precisely around midnight, the officers of the Westbahnhof police inspection captured the two cars with impressive speeds of 137 km/h and 142 km/h. Both vehicles were then ensured how the police reported in a current press release. Particularly explosive: one of the drivers, a 21-year-old, had only lost his test guide license in early March due to serious speed violations, while the second handlebar had no valid driving license, like Exxpress.at held.
new system for speed monitoring in Serbia
From now on, the Serbian traffic police will use an extended control system for average speed measurement on all motorways. In close cooperation with "Putevi Srbije" and the management for measures and precious metals, the technology is used in about 50 streets across the country. In addition to the speed monitoring, the new system also offers the opportunity to determine whether the driver and passenger are strapped on during the trip or whether the driver uses the cell phone, such as kosmo.at . This is a significant step towards improving traffic safety, especially in view of the fact that 40 people are killed in traffic accidents on average in the Serbian highways every year, mostly due to inappropriate speeds.
This interplay of new technologies in traffic control and immediate measures against ruthless driving shows how serious the authorities are against dangerous driving behavior. The operations of the traffic police should not only intervene for a short time, but also increase security on the streets in the long term.
