Justice for Samuel Paty: eight convictions after gruesome murder!
A teacher was brutally murdered in 2020 - now eight people have been convicted!
In a shocking judgment, a French court condemned eight people for their role in the cruel murder of Samuel Paty, a teacher who showed caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed during a teaching discussion. The conviction took place in a crowded courtroom in Paris, where the tension was literally in the air.The Parisian special jurisdiction expressed prison terms between one and 16 years. These drastic punishments were imposed after the accused were guilty of organizing a hate campaign that culminated in the bestial beheading of the 47-year-old teacher. The perpetrator, an 18-year-old Russian origin, was shot by the police at the scene of the crime.
The masterminds of the hate campaign
Naim Boudaoud, 22, and Azim Epsirkhanov, 23, were sentenced to murder for help and received 16 years in prison. Boudaoud was accused of driving the attacker Abdoullakh Anzorov to school while Epsirkhanov helped him procure weapons. These two men were at the center of the terrible events that led to Paty's death.
Abdelhakim Sefrioui, a 65-year-old Muslim preacher, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for organizing a hate campaign against Paty online and describing him in a video as "villain". His lawyer has already announced that it would appeal against the judgment. Brahim Chnina, 52, received 13 years for his connection to a "terrorist company". He had published videos that incorrectly accused Paty of punishing his daughter because she had complained about the lessons.
The other four defendants, who were part of a network of sympathizers of Auforov, were also convicted. This group had spread content online, which ultimately led to the terrible act.
a judgment with far -reaching consequences
"Nobody says that they wanted Samuel Paty to die," said prosecutor Nicholas Braconnay in court. "But by having lit thousands of ignition cords online, they knew that one of them would lead to ... violence against the blasphemic teacher."
The verdict marks the end of the Paty process. Last year, a Court of Chnina's daughter and five other young people were convicted of participation in a planned conspiracy that led to the preparation of an assault.
Gaelle Paty, the murdered teacher's sister, showed himself "touched" and "relieved". "To hear the word 'guilty' - that was what I needed," she told the reporters in front of the court. Her voice broke when she spoke about the emotional stress of the past week. "Now the judge has explained what really happened, and that feels good."
The reactions of the families' reactions were shocking: Gasps, screams and ironic clapping broke through the silence in the courtroom, which forced the judge several times to ask for peace. "They lied through my brother," called a relative. Another woman, crying, called: "You took my baby" before she was led from the courtroom by police officers.
