In the night from Saturday to Sunday there was a brutal knife attack in a night club in Röthis, in which an 18-year-old was seriously injured. According to Vol.at , a dispute between the victim N. and the 20-year-old suspect D. Schnell. During a supposedly provocative exchange, D. pulled a folding knife and stuck N. in a targeted manner in the chest, which led to a penetrating stitch in the lungs. N. had to be operated on the same evening and is now out of danger after being treated in the intensive care unit.

The police were able to identify D. quickly and arrested him on Sunday. A house search revealed the alleged weapon. D. has a history with the police, but details on his previous crimes were not confirmed. Questions raise the security measures in the club because it is unclear how the suspect could bring a knife without noticing it by the security service.
