Bettingen, Schweiz - The Cantonal Police Basel is preparing for the future! From February 28, 2025, new, environmentally friendly patrol vehicles from the Mercedes brand are on the road on Basel's roads. The old fleet, consisting of VW T-Patrouilla vehicles, is replaced by electrically driven Mercedes Evito. In addition, the police breathe fresh wind into their motorcycle fleet: electrically powered motorcycles expand the existing models and ensure environmentally conscious missions. The Skoda Enyaq, which replaces the previous model in the Bettingen police station, is also a special role and is tailored to the special needs of the police, such as a higher ground clearance.
innovative technology for police operation
This vehicle fleet not only brings innovation, but also an adaptation of the interior, which differs from the previous model. The testing of the new vehicles is intended to provide valuable insights in order to optimize future series renovation. The electric vehicles, such as the fully electric motorcycle Zero DSR/X, are not only available in the regular patrol service, but also at major events to ensure security.
By the way: Mercedes is not only known for his passenger vehicles. The Daimler Group also includes commercial vehicles and other brands such as Smart and the luxury models from Mercedes-Maybach.
