Salzburg fights for a wildlife station: petition with 1800 signatures!

In the heart of Salzburg there is currently a burning wish: the establishment of a wildlife station, the injured and in need should help wild animals such as hinges and squirrels. This initiative was launched by activist: inside of the VGT and the ARGE city pigeon Salzburg Association, which is to be handed over to Vice Mayor Kay-Michael Dankl on Monday, February 10, 2025. The Frohnburgstadel on the Hellbrunner Allee, a historical building in a high level of renovation, could be the new location for this important facility, since there is so far no contact point for such animals as APA OTS reported.

Kay-Michael Dankl, who is not only committed as Vice Mayor, but also as a state spokesman for the KPÖ Plus, sees the urgency of this facility: "Salzburg urgently needs a wildlife station as a central point of contact for injured and in need." Animal protection is anchored in the Austrian constitution, which gives additional importance for this concern. In the past, Dankl encouraged the citizens: inside to actively participate and to raise their voice on political questions. In an interview, he stated: "We encourage people to make politics on site," as meindezirk.at reported.

a strong sign of animal welfare

The collected signatures and the planned handover of the petition are the expression of a growing public interest in animal protection issues and the need to find suitable solutions for the good of the animals. "We are pleased that Kay-Michael Dankl takes this responsibility towards the wild animals and the concern of the population seriously," said Georg Prinz, deputy chairman of the association against animal factories. This movement could not only positively influence the wildlife in Salzburg, but also set an important social statement for animal welfare.
