Cycle path connection between Vitis and Eschenau: Spring brings progress!
In the market town of Vitis, the start of construction of a new bike path is expected to be reality in spring. The construction work for the approximately two -kilometer connection from Vitis to Eschenau starts to the middle of the week. The bike path leads from Grafenschlag over the picturesque shaft pond to Eschenau and sometimes uses existing forest and meadow paths, which are now being paved for cyclists. This step marks a significant progress for cycling infrastructure in the region, as reported on Noen.at At the same time, politics in Delmenhorst plans to close a gap in the network of cycle paths. The planned cycle path, which is known in the Ganderkese area as "Randgraben East" and is described in Hude as on the Geestrandgraben, currently ends on the street on the Imbäke. A new foot and bike path is to be created to better network Hude with Hohenböken, which meets the needs of the village renewal program. On March 19, a joint meeting of the specialist committees will take place in Bookholzberg. The Huder department head Uwe Schubert has already expressed that the administration in Hude was open to the project, provided Ganderkesee agreed. With a desired route of one kilometer, a large part is on Ganderkese area, which makes the consent of both municipalities essential, according to the report by weser-kurier.de .
The discussion about the bike path has produced various opinions. While some advocate an extensive solution, there are also voices that propose to repair existing paths and not to create new bike path. The Ganderkeseer Ratsherr Reinhold Schütte argues that a link to the existing paths to the street in the Hohenböken moor could be sufficient. The future decisions of the two municipalities could be crucial for whether cyclists in this area will be more secure and more direct in the future.
