New elections in sight: CDU and SPD in the race for voting!

In a dramatic political upheaval, Chancellor Olaf Scholz dissolved the traffic light coalition and released finance minister Christian Lindner. This decision comes in the middle of a tense economic situation and causes excitement in the political landscape of Germany. Scholz 'sharp criticism of Lindner has surprised many and gives the question of how the federal government will continue.

The reactions from Saxony-Anhalt are as diverse as they are emotional. CDU boss Sven Schulze is surprised by the hardness of Scholz and emphasizes that every further day of the traffic light coalition would have been a bad day for Germany. "This shows that we are ready for new elections," said Schulze. The CDU sees itself in a strong position while the SPD is optimistic about the future.

SPD and FDP: Different perspectives

The SPD in Saxony-Anhalt is firmly behind Scholz and welcomes the decision to end the coalition. Co-state chairman Andreas Schmidt explains that it is time to make the country capable of action again. The Social Democrats are ready to ask themselves to the question of trust in the Bundestag and look confidently at possible new elections in spring 2025.

In contrast, the FDP sees the blame for the failure of the traffic light coalition at the coalition partners SPD and the Greens. Lydia Hüskens, the state chair of the FDP, criticizes the refusal to discuss reform proposals. "The red lines were exceeded and the opportunity to organize new elections together was rejected by the Chancellor," explains Hüskens. It demands a return to less bureaucracy and a relief of the citizens that were not possible under the current political leadership.
