New National Council: Two MPs from Steyr in Vienna
In the upcoming new National Council, two MPs from the Steyr region are expected to be represented. So far, three politicians from this area have represented the National Council, including the Mayor of Schiedlberg Johann Singer (ÖVP), Pfarrkirchner Gerhard Deheimek (FPÖ) and Steyrin Katharina Werner (Neos). However, Singer and Werner will no longer be represented in the upcoming legislative period. The 61-year-old Gerhard Deimek, in parliament since 2008, will continue to represent the interests of the region in Vienna.
A significant development is the fact that the SPÖ-Traunviertel candidate Katrin Auer received enormous support with 4,984 preferred votes, of which 4,340 come from Steyr and Steyr-Land. This indicates that the Steyr City Councilor Auer will most likely move into the National Council. However, the official confirmation will only be announced on Thursday after a meeting of the state election authority if the final election result for Upper Austria is available.
The upcoming change in the parliamentary representation of the Steyr region shows a significant shift in the political landscape and could lead to new impulses and activities in the upcoming legislative period.
