Neptune State Prize: Austria's best water projects 2025!
In an impressive act of recognition, the most creative and innovative water projects in Austria were awarded on March 20, 2025 at the Neptune award ceremony. Federal Minister Norbert Tettschnig honored over 700 submissions, whereby the artistic wave claw festival from Lunz am See received first place in the water creative category for its outstanding dealing with the acoustic world. The festival has been impressed by musical performances and workshops for years, which make the sounds of the underwater world tangible, as on noen.at is.
Other top -class players of this year's award included projects such as the Environmental Education Center Styria, which with the audience award for "Let’s Flow Together!" was awarded. Here, awareness of climate change is promoted in Austrian and Slovenian young people. A total of 20 awarded water projects were celebrated in five categories, including the innovative product development of Donau Chemie AG, which filters medication residues from wastewater, which took first place in the water research category. These significant developments underline Austria's role as a pioneer in the field of water innovations, according to homicide to ots.at
As part of the celebration, in which around 250 guests from water management and politics took part, regional winners such as the municipality of Waizenkirchen were also honored for their successful Renaturation project of Aschach. "The abundance of submissions speaks for itself," emphasized homicide, whereby a record of over 700 submissions from 25 countries was recorded this year. These awards are not just an appreciation of individual projects, but a powerful impulse for a sustainable future and for the appreciation of our most valuable estate: water.
