70 years of SCC: Seehausen celebrates carnival with shine and humor!

A grandiose festival for 70th birthday! The Seehäuser Carnevals Club (SCC) invited to a spectacular reception in the Salzkirche at the weekend. With the three -time call "Seehausen Hajo", ceremonial master Burkhard Lüdicke welcomed the numerous guests, including prominent representatives from the carnival scene and local politicians such as Stendals District Administrator Patrick Puhlmann and Mayor Detlef Neumann. The atmosphere was characterized by joy and nostalgia, while the members looked back on the eventful history of the club.

The foundation of the SCC in 1954 was an answer to the social upheavals of the time. After the popular uprising in the GDR, the desire for happiness became loud, and so the club was created to spread joy and cheerfulness. With a lot of enthusiasm, the members organized the first Rose Monday parade in 1955, which filled the streets of Seehausen with colorful costumes and happy faces. But the story was not always carefree: in the late 1950s, state control led to the employment of public events, and the SCC continued to celebrate.

A review of 70 years of carnival

Burkhard Lüdicke recalled the ups and downs of the past seven decades. Despite the challenges, the SCC blossomed, especially from the 1990s, when the carnival events won again. The Weiberfastnacht, which has been celebrated in Barsberge since 1998, is another highlight and shows the creative ingenuity of the association. "The tulip is a nice flower, and you can drink a wonderful beer from it," said Lüdicke the motto of the move.

The carnival sessions were always a reflection of the time. The programs had to be approved during the GDR period, which often led to curious situations. Once the SCC threatened a penalty of 1000 marks if a certain hit was played. But the carnivalists could not be kept down and ensured unforgettable moments, even if they stretched the rules a little. Once a prince couple from Quedlinburg were spontaneously integrated into the celebrations, which ensured a lot of laughter and led to a new member of the carnival family nine months later
