Corruption investigation against ÖVP: Mails bring new swing!
The corruption investigation against the ÖVP is again in the spotlight after the Supreme Court has decided that seized emails from the Chancellery under Sebastian Kurz can now be evaluated. As Kleine Zeitung reports in his work the sophisticated methods that are used to control medial reporting and displace them. During his time as head of communication by Kurz, Fleischmann was known for his "Message Control", which focused on the strategic placement of information. Although he actually wanted to change professionally, he received a new position as head of communication at the ÖVP. However, the book does not provide information about the current allegations of corruption against him.
The developments in the investigation and the publication of Fleischmann's book could have a lasting impact on the public perception of the ÖVP. The FPÖ general secretary Christian Hafenecker expressed the new investigation options that they could help to bring “light into the dark”. The discussion about corruption and the associated persons become more intense and could have serious consequences for the People's Party.
