Coalition negotiations: Bables demands clear numbers and open discussion
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - In the middle of burgeoning coalition negotiations between the SPÖ, ÖVP and Neos, SPÖ boss Andreas Babler raises clear words and makes it clear that he does not want to draw any red lines or pregnant conditions for the negotiations. Nevertheless, he and his party leave the opportunity for asset and inheritance taxes on the table. During an interview as part of "Both sides Live" on Puls 24 emphasized BABER: "All economic researchers of the past few days say that it will not be outstanding, even if we put the entire health care to zero". This is primarily related to the currently desired savings and the need for specific numbers for the budget. BABLER announced that he was expecting discussions for this week to be able to make sound decisions, as from Puls24
agreement or not? The expectations are increasing!
The tension increases, because in the upcoming elephant round on Sunday evening, which is broadcast live to Puls 4, ATV, Puls 24, Joyn and Krone TV, the top of the most important parties: Karl Nehammer (ÖVP), Andreas Babler (SPÖ), Beate Meinl-Reisinger (Neos) and Werner Kogler (Greens) meet. However, Herbert Kickl (FPÖ) canceled his participation at short notice what the organizers regret and criticize that the FPÖ may give a chance to present their points of view. A representative of the editorial team expressed: "It is a shame that the FPÖ did not use this opportunity", as well as from ots.at taken up.
The question remains particularly explosive which financial measures can actually be implemented in order to implement the constantly required savings without neglecting the social issues. So an agreement between the parties is on the brink, while the public is waiting for what the next conversation will bring.
