Two -time silo brandy in Kaltenbach: fire brigade in continuous use!

On June 1, 2025 at 2:16 p.m., the Kaltenbach volunteer fire brigade moved out to a fire alarm in an industrial company in Kaltenbach, Tyrol. The trigger was an explosion inside a silo, which resulted in considerable smoke development. Under the command of senior administrator Alexander Moser, the firefighters and the company's employees started emptying the silo immediately. Temperature warning reports had previously pointed out striking heat development. A technical defect in the extinguishing water device led to a back fire that spread over the conveyor snail to the wood silo.

With a turntable ladder, the emergency services checked the silo and localized embers that were combated by a respiratory protection squad. After successfully emptying the silo, the glow residues could be deleted. The fire brigade Kaltenbach and their colleagues from Stumm and Ried in Zillertal received support.

new alarm on the following day

A day later, on June 2, 2025, the Kaltenbach fire brigade and the fire brigade were stummed again. At 05:50 a.m. there was a message about another silo fire, which was due to the incidents of the previous day. While the employees emptied the rest of the silo, there was another deflection at around 05:45. The content of the silo was distributed to the forecourt, which also caught fire on a filter system and parts of the roof structure.

The use, led by chief fire inspector Christian Ortner, required a re -alarm by fire brigade from Ried im Zillertal, Aschau and Schwaz, which were equipped with a roll -off container for breathing protection and large fans. Thanks to the joint use, the fire could be quickly brought under control. The first emergency services were able to move in at around 9:00 a.m., while the Kaltenbach fire brigade and Stumm remained active until late afternoon. A special company was consulted to remove the remaining silo content with a suction truck. The mission ended around 5:00 p.m. without personal injury, but with considerable damage to property.
