The first accident occurred at 2:20 p.m. on Seeberg Straße towards Bad Eisenkappel. A 25-year-old Slovenian lost control of his motorcycle in a strong left curve. He contracted indefinitely and was flown to the Klagenfurt accident hospital with the rescue helicopter C11. An alcohol test was negative, but considerable property damage to the motorcycle.

The second accident happened at 4:35 p.m. on the Bleiberger Landesstraße (L 35) on the road kilometer 9,400 when a 39-year-old Styrian fell on a different route. He also fell in a left turn when he was traveling from Bad Bleiberg towards Villach. He also suffered indefinite injuries and was brought to the Villach State Hospital. His motorcycle suffered a total loss.

The analysis of the VCÖ shows that 94 percent of the fatally crashed motorcyclists are men, with the age group of 50 to 64-year-olds most affected. This is where an urgent appeal for improving safety in road traffic. Public attention to the dangers of motorcycling is becoming increasingly important to prevent further tragedies.
