Future of water and gas supply: Congress in Graz enthusiastic!
Stadthalle Graz, Österreich - on May 21 and 22, 2025 will take place in the city hall Graz, Austria, the Congress and the Gas Wasser 2025 trade fair. Organized by the Austrian Association for the gas and water subject (ÖVGW), the event is aimed at employees of gas network companies, installers and water suppliers. This significant event offers an exhibition area of 1,200 m² and expects around 1,000 visitors. A total of 80 exhibitors, both from Austria and from Europe, will present their innovative solutions and services.
The Congress has set itself the goal of addressing current challenges and developments in gas and water supply. It will concentrate particularly on digitization in the industry, sustainable construction methods and measures to avoid emissions. Special focus in the specialist program is the transformation of the gas infrastructure, the discussion about green gases such as biomethane and hydrogen as well as the conformity with the EU MethaneMissions Ordinance. The variety of information is supplemented by interesting lectures, including a Keynote-Speech from Phillip Keil on the subject of teamwork.

The lecture program of the trade fair is free of charge for all trade fair visitors and offers impulse lectures from various exhibitors. These are scheduled for a maximum of 15 minutes and take place on an additional stage in the "ÖVGW garden" behind the ÖVGW stand. On the first day of the event, May 21st, the lecture program begins at 11:00 a.m. with a lecture on the new standard of water network monitoring.

digitization in the water management
A central aspect of the congress is the digitization of the water management, also known as water 4.0. This development is of enormous importance because it has the potential to improve the provision of drinking water and wastewater treatment. The exchange of data can create more efficient and more transparent processes, which means that challenges in water supply can be tackled up to date. Digitization is a pioneer for a city worth living in by significantly optimizing the municipal infrastructure, so energy-wasser-praxis.de.
For interested specialist visitors, there is the possibility to register both on site on the first day of the congress and in advance on the website ovgw.at. In this context, ÖVGW members represent 21 gas network operators and over 303 water companies that include more than 2,000 water suppliers and supply around 80% of the centrally supplied population with drinking water.
