Vienna Health Association: Clinics in the mega modernization boost!
The Vienna Health Association has announced the start of a comprehensive information campaign today, which focuses on the largest modernization program in the history of healthcare in Vienna. The aim is to moderate all clinics in the city by 2040. This includes the construction of the new pavilion hospitals in Ottakring and Hietzing into central clinics, since the existing infrastructure of many Viennese city clinics is sometimes over 100 years old.
Despite the extensive construction work, the care of the patients remains upright around the clock to ensure continuous medical care. The planned advantages of the new clinics include one and twin-bed rooms, the provision of all services under one roof and significantly fewer ways for the patients.
Current construction projects and modernizations
Currently several construction projects are being implemented that already have visible changes in various clinics. The modern entrance area and the extended outpatient clinic area in the Landstrasse Clinic must be mentioned as an example. In addition, a parent-child center is built in the University Hospital AKH. A new central emergency room is being planned in the Favorite Clinic, while a high-tech laboratory building is about to be completed.
Accompanying these changes, the Website bauprojekt.gesundheit.atat will be available that offers comprehensive information about the current planning status and construction activities. The entire construction projects are coordinated by the Vienna Health Association Project Development and Baumanagement GmbH (PBG).
The Austrian Structural Plan Health
An essential framework for these modernizations is the Austrian Structural Plan Health (ÖSG), which defines the responsibility for health care in Austria. This plan is decided by the federal government, the federal states and social security and includes planning statements, quality criteria and a large device plan. The aim is the further development of the Austrian health system in order to ensure the same quality of care for all citizens. Austria is divided into 32 pension regions, whereby Vienna is divided into three pension regions: North-East, South and West.
The implementation of the ÖSG intends to make medical care efficient and to initiate necessary measures to improve the health infrastructure. The continuous development of the ÖSG shows a corresponding adaptation to the needs of society and the challenges in healthcare. The Vienna Health Association Information Campaign aims to create a broad understanding of the importance of this extensive construction and modernization measures and to inform the public about the progress and changes in the clinics.
