Circus Wiener Carpet brings spectacle for the whole family!

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, a spectacular event will take place in the Fritz-Imhoff-Park and Leuthnerhof in the sixth district of Vienna: the circus spectacle "Wiener Carpet". Organized by the cultural laboratory community building, the event returns after a two -year break and presents an exciting program of contemporary circus art. The red carpet extends over 100 meters into the width of 2 meters, which particularly appeals to visitors.

A highlight of the spectacle is the highest unicycle in Vienna. The Rhizomatic Circus Mai will surprise the audience with an interactive performance, in which you will move together with the performers. Entry is free for all ages, which makes the event particularly accessible.

Various workshops will take place from 2:00 p.m., including topics such as acrobatics, parkour, juggling and rap with the artist Esra Özmen. The workshops last until 5:00 p.m., registration is not required. The circus show then begins at 5:00 p.m. and will take around 6:30 p.m.

A special highlight will be the parade from the Fritz-Imhoff-Park to the Leuthnerhof. Here, visitors are given the opportunity to experience different performances, including the aerial acrobatics piece "Instagremlin" by Ga ft a Galaktika, which deals with the subject of smartphone distraction. The clown number "Captain Bernie’s Flying Airplane Circus" by Bernhard Zandl also addresses young and old.

There will also be a juggling of Ariane Öchsner, which deals with trauma cafriation strategies, as well as partner acrobatics with musical accompaniment by Yasmin Heyer and Uwe Sattelkow, among other things. In bad weather, a replacement date for the event is planned, namely June 11, 2025, so that no fan of contemporary circus art has to do without the spectacle.
