Viennese children shape their future: new adventure park opened!
In Vienna, the focus is on current projects for children and adolescents who offer both support and movement options. The grandma/grandpa project, which has existed in Vienna and other cities for over a decade, currently provides around 95 children with individual learning aid and psychosocial support. Despite the great demand, there is a lack of funds for the urgently needed expansion in Vienna, as project manager Sonja Rappold reports. A second institution would be necessary to better meet the needs of the children, but both financial difficulties and the lack of suitable premises stand in the way of the lack of financial difficulties. District head Peter Jagsch emphasizes the importance of such integrative offers that not only promote school performance, but also offer social stability and emotional security, and emphasizes the urgency of further support initiatives for children in disadvantaged conditions. With an inspiring result in the Clemens-Krauss Park, another step towards better leisure activities for children was realized. An innovative balancing and climbing park was created here, based on the idea of the brothers Reto and Lorin F., which is supported by the "Children's and Youth Million". This initiative allows young people to bring in their ideas for the city and actively implement them. The new movement space includes a 38 -meter -long balancing route and a 11 meter high climbing route and offers numerous elements that train the balance and coordination in a playful way. Vice Mayor Christoph Return and district leader Peter Jagsch were enthusiastic about the commitment of the children, who created this vital space for movement. The project, which emerged from the first round of the child and youth million, impressively illustrates how participation of young people can lead to real changes, as in the article of ots.at
