Vienna icon closes: Hotel Bristol in renovation for two years!
The traditional hotel Bristol in Vienna, which has been embodied by a symbiosis of hospitality and elegance for more than a century, will close from March 2025 for extensive renovation work. According to the Sacher Group, which the hotel has completely owned since 2011, the reopening is to take place in December 2027, just in time for the Christmas business. This renovation will not only modernize the historical building, but also ensure that it does justice to the latest standards in terms of energy efficiency, security and comfort, such as ots.at reported.
comprehensive modernizations and social responsibility
The planned measures include the introduction of renewable energies such as photovoltaics and long -distance cold, while the hotel also preserves its historical features. Matthias Winkler, CEO of the Sacher Group, emphasizes: "This renovation is not only an investment in the future of the Hotel Bristol, but also in the preservation of an iconic landmark of Vienna." In addition, the hotel has developed a social plan to support employees during the closure. Both, the Sacher Group and Marriott, want to ensure that many of the employees receive new jobs in other facilities and can return to the hotel after reopening, such as Oe24.at reported.
The Hotel Bristol was only recognized in July 2024 as the best hotel in Vienna, which underlines the high expectation of the upcoming renovations. The director Simone Dulies will leave the hotel with the closure in March, which is an emotional farewell for many. "Without you, the house will be different," wrote brand ambassador Julian Stöckel in a farewell post. After the renovation measures, the hotel with a total of 150 rooms, including exclusive suites, will again shine in new splendor and continue its long tradition as one of the best hotels in Vienna.
