at the Salzburg Regional Court on Wednesday there is a continuation of the trial against a 39-year-old Algerier, which is accused of severe robbery. The case revolves around a supposed car sale that took place in Vienna-Penzing and in which a young Salzburger was attacked.
The incident occurred this year in January. The victim, a Salzburg, had discovered an online advertisement that drew his attention to a car. Together with friends, he traveled to Vienna to examine the vehicle. Here the Salzburg and the alleged seller agreed on a purchase price of 28,000 euros. Now they were ready for the handover.

When the Salzburg drove to Vienna again to pick up the car, the accused Algerier and two unknown accomplices were waiting for him instead of the vehicle. According to the public prosecutor, the young man was brutally attacked. The trio beat him and robbed him of his fuss in 29,000 euros in cash and two mobile phones.
Despite the superiority of the attackers, the Salzburg tried to defend himself. He grabbed the main suspect on his foot and tried to hold him. The Algerier then pulled out a shotgun and fired three times before threatening the Salzburg with a folding knife. Nevertheless, the victim managed not to let the Algerian escape.
The accused's two accomplices were able to flee in the hustle and bustle, but the police were quickly at the scene and arrested the Algerian. Since then it has been in custody. The last negotiation date on October 23 was postponed to collect further evidence. The public prosecutor points out that the Algerian already has five criminal records. If he is convicted, he could face a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
