Grief for Daniel Nader: A life for Austrian boxing

In a moving moment for the Austrian sports world, it became known that Daniel Nader, the founder and president of the Vienna boxing club Bounce, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the age of only 42 after a long and serious fight against nerve disease MSA. He leaves a wife and two children, as well as countless mourners within the boxing community, especially his brother Marcos Nader, who is known in the scene as EBU and IBF Champion.

Daniel Nader was a bright figure in Austrian boxing. At the age of only 24, he founded the Boxclub Bounce in Vienna Ottakring and led it to the country's largest boxing place within a few years. His commitment and vision made it possible for the association to have over 1,000 active members.

Nader was not only a talented founder, but also an extremely successful coach. He acquired the coveted 3-star AIBA license, which made it possible for him to coach athletes in international competitions such as the Olympic Games. Under his leadership, many athletes carried particularly significant successes, including five medals at the European Championships.

his older brother Marcos, who was introduced by Daniel at a young age, owes great parts of his sporting career and appreciated the extensive support from his brother throughout his career. In addition, Daniel also celebrated numerous successes with other athletes, such as Stefan Nikolic, who triumphed in the WBF Intercontinental category, and Michaela Kotaskova, who won both the WBF Intercontinental and WBF world championship title.

The BOONCE FIGHT NIGHT

2017 Nader set another significant sign in boxing when he launched the Bounce Fight Night. This competition series developed into the greatest of its kind in Austria. To date, there have been 14 events in which a total of eleven international title fights were held. The upcoming Bounce Fight Night on November 30th will be dedicated to Daniel Nader and his life's work.

Nader's influence went beyond the work of the association. He was actively on the board of the Viennese and Austrian boxing association and had the role of the national coach until early 2024. He also took responsibility as a state and federal officer in the Roof Sports Association ASKÖ, which further underlines his commitment to sport.

The news of his death has deeply shaken both the boxing community and his family. The fight against the incurable illness, which was diagnosed with him in 2022, was tough, but Daniel stood up with admirable will and determination. In the past few days he has lost his suffering that the whole boxing world mourned him.
