In the summer of 2024, the decision was made about the winner of an architectural competition, which was also decided by a jury, which also included representatives of the 8th Vienna municipal district. The Baumschlager Eberle Architects office was able to convince with his concept. "The winning project combines modern medical requirements with sustainability," said Mag. Cornelia Obermeier, managing director of the clinics.

energy efficiency and sustainability

A central feature of the new hospital building will be to put environmentally friendly aspects in the foreground. With a focus on natural light sources and comprehensive greening, which includes both surfaces and the roof, the new building becomes partly a sustainable environment. The architect Julia Wildfeuer emphasizes that "health -promoting architecture" plays an important role and that a publicly accessible garden is intended as a resort for the community.

The energy supply is to be ensured by innovative methods such as geothermal energy and a photovoltaic system. This procedure is in accordance with the aim of creating a healthy microclimate in the new center and at the same time giving the public access to a conscious lifestyle.
