Meidlinger Klimateam is looking for creative ideas for a greener Grätzl!

The Meidlinger Klimateam is looking for the best ideas for a more environmentally friendly quarter. Until Friday, October 25th, the citizens of Meidling can submit their suggestions. The initiative aims to find creative approaches to improve the quality of life in the areas of climate -friendly mobility, sustainability in everyday life, renewable energies and a climate -adapted urban space.

So far, around 200 proposals have already been received that were brought in by the community. Among these ideas can be found, for example, the plan to green the Edelsinnstrasse to Fasangartengasse with plants. Another remarkable proposal is the installation of a solar roof on the Lobkowitzbrücke for creating shadows.

collaboration with experts

One of the original ideas comes from Martin E., who proposed a arcade for Meidlinger Hauptstraße. This could not only be aesthetically appealing, but also contribute to water storage. All submissions are checked by experts from the City of Vienna and further developed together with the accommodating ideas. Finally, a jury, consisting of a glazed district resident, selects the best projects that are then to be implemented.

If you still have ideas, you are invited to submit it via the Klimateam.GV.at website, where further information and a database are available with already submitted proposals. The deadline until October 25th is a crucial time for creative minds that want to actively contribute to a better climate in your quarter.
