Junge Theater Vienna: Culture for the districts from 2025 - Introduction days in November

The city of Vienna has decided to significantly expand the cultural offer for the outdoor districts. Under the motto "Where you grow up, your culture is at home", the "Junge Theater Vienna" will be launched to inspire a young audience in the districts of favorites, Simmering, Floridsdorf, Donaustadt and Liesing. This initiative was announced in spring 2024, but has now accepted concrete forms.

The idea behind this project is to give children and young people the opportunity to experience theater performances as part of school pedagogical activities or accompanied their families. This should not only make culture more present, but also create a feeling of participation.

From spring 2025, the "Junge Theater" will start with the first productions, followed by a season that lasts from September 2025 to June 2026. Before that, the many theater groups already give an exciting foretaste of what they have to offer.

The "Young Theater Favorites", which will be experienced on Friday, November 8, at 5:30 p.m. in the Kulturhaus Brotfabrik on Friday, November 8th. Admission is free, and at 6.30 p.m. there is a dialogue event on the topic "The concept of the third places".

The "Young Theater Simmering" will be presented in the Neubauen Castle on Wednesday, November 13th. Here, too, the festival starts at 5:30 p.m. with free admission, and visitors can look forward to an exciting program with music and information. Afterwards there is a discussion about theater for young audiences.

On Thursday, November 14th, the Theater in Floridsdorf at 5:30 p.m. in the cultural anchor center gives an insight into the upcoming performances. However, the ticket reservations for the plays are necessary here. Another festival that takes place in the Danube city on Friday, November 22nd, will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. in the cultural architecture. Visitors can look forward to the "Oh Happy Day" concert, for which tickets can be purchased.

The end of the series is the "Junge Theater Liesing", which will be shown on Thursday, November 28th, at 5:30 p.m. in "F23 - We.Fabriken". Here, too, the audience awaits a play and the opportunity to be part of the free festival.

The guests of this special opening festival include cultural councilor Veronica Kaup-Hasler (SPÖ) and the founder and artistic director of the "Junge Theater Vienna", Stephan Rabl. The district leaders and heads of the respective cultural sites will also be represented.
