Orange Bank in Hietzing: A sign against violence on women

As part of the international campaign "16 days against violence against women", which started on November 25th, an important sign was set in Hietzing. On the 13th district, an orange park bench was set up that draws attention to the problem of violence against women. The campaign is not only symbolic, but also a specific initiative for education and sensitization.

representatives of the district parties, including the ÖVP, SPö, Neos and the Greens, have launched the idea. The artist Nadine Werjant was commissioned to design the bank. This work of art has found its place in the park on the square, directly opposite the Hietzing district museum and is intended to strengthen awareness of this pressing topic.

a symbol of hope and support

The Orange Bank is not just a striking sign against domestic violence. She also provides information about important auxiliary numbers for affected women and girls. This includes a 24-hour women's emergency call and contact points for men who need help. This information is crucial to help those affected to find support quickly.

In the coming time, further actions by various political groups in Hietzing are planned. As usual, the Greens will ignite candles for every woman who fell victim to a female this year, which is intended as memory. The SPÖ has organized an art installation with red shoes on the Kennedy Bridge to also remind you of the women killed. ÖVP and NEOS plan to distribute information materials to spread the message further.
