Hunting fever in Margaret: Police are looking for witnesses for robbery attempt

On Friday evening, October 4, the police in Margareten was alerted for an attempted robbery. Around 7:35 p.m., an 18-year-old man reported that he and his friend were encountered in Kohlgasse when three young men spoke and expressed violent threats to request the victim's jacket.

The situation escalated when the victim's friend informed the suspect that the police had already been informed. This quick reaction led to a 17-year-old suspect withdrawn his threat and let go of the jacket.

When the 17-year-old noticed the incoming police officers, he fled towards Höglmüllergasse. The officials immediately accepted the persecution. During the hunting, a police officer happened to encountered a civilian who took his bike out of a stand. The policeman used the bike to react faster.

In Brandmayergasse, the official finally managed to get and arrest the 17-year-old suspect. At the instruction of the Vienna public prosecutor, the suspect was recorded, but was reported to be released after the questioning. Fortunately, the incident remained without physical damage to those involved. The bike was returned to the original owner.

The two other alleged perpetrators were able to escape and directed in unknown directions. The police continue to investigate.
