New student dormitory Milestone Vienna: Sustainability meets comfort in Vienna

In a modern and sustainable environment, the Milestone Vienna Erdberg student dormitory opens at a central location in Vienna-Landstrasse. This new home is part of the comprehensive development project Stadtquartier@Wienarena, which is realized by the Raiffeisen Property Holding International (RPHI). The opening took place on November 21, in the presence of leaders such as the managing director of Milestone, Christof Flöckner, and Karl-Maria Pfeffer, the managing director of Rphi.

"Vienna is increasingly developing as a preferred study location for students from all over the world, and thus the need for suitable living space is growing. With Milestone Vienna Erdberg, we are expanding our high -quality offer again and thus improving the quality of life for students," said Flöckner during the opening ceremony. The student dormitory is the third of its kind in Vienna and offers extensive opportunities for accommodation for students.

diverse living opportunities

In total, the new residents have 418 fully furnished rooms in various categories. The dormitory also offers generous common areas such as fitness, music and multi-purpose rooms as well as an inviting terrace to relax and communicate. With a total area of 14,600 m², Milestone Vienna Erdberg becomes an important meeting point for the student community.

The project also plans to open 48 service apartments as well as shop and office space until the first quarter of 2025. This shows the endeavor to create a multifunctional space that is worthy of both students and for residents in the area.

sustainability and future orientation

The student dormitory relies on environmentally friendly technologies, including groundwater use, heat pumps and a comprehensive photovoltaic system on the roof. Gold certification by the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate Management (ÖGNI) is sought, which already proves that sustainable building and life cycle-oriented thinking are fixed components of RPHI philosophy, said Pfeffer. The entire area will be further developed by the end of the decade and, in its connection of apartments, services and leisure opportunities, represents an attractive location for students.

The competent planning of the infrastructure and the excellent connection to public transport are highlighted as great advantages for the residents. There are important facilities in the immediate vicinity, such as the biology center of the University of Vienna, and future projects that expand the offer for students. We continue to report on the progressive development of the area and the associated advantages for the student community.
