Rhythm and piano art: concert by Jure Goručan enthusiastic in Vienna

On December 7, 2022, the talented Slovenian pianist Jure Goručan will give an enchanting concert in the Red Salon of the Oestig LSG in Vienna. The event begins at 7 p.m. and admission takes place via a voluntary donation, so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy this musical performance.

Goručan, who is characterized by its technical skill and musical sensitivity, has already demonstrated its skills in the past. His training in the field of percussion makes him particularly skillful when it comes to interpreting rhythmically complex works. During the concert, he will perform a selection of classic piano pieces that are particularly characterized by their rhythmic intensity.

The program

At the beginning of the evening, the Sonata K175, which was created around 1739, will be heard in the minor of the baroque composer Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti. This sonata is known for its flowing and repeating elements, which Goručan can masterfully implement. The work also requires technical sophistication, since up to seven tones have to be played at the same time in some places.

Another highlight of the concert is Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata N27, op. 90. Goručan will be required to record and present the soulful tone language of the composer. With this piece, Beethoven places high demands on the empathy of the interpreter.

The approximately twenty-minute "hiker fantasy" by Franz Schubert follows next. This composition is based on a single motif from Schubert's famous song "The Hiker" and turns it into different musical forms. The final of this imagination is so complex that Schubert himself noticed: "The devil should play this stuff!". Goručan will face this challenge to ensure the musical tension offered to his audience.

After a short break, Joseph Haydn's sonata Es major will be heard, Hob. XVI/52, which was written for an extraordinary pianist from England. Goručan will have to bring the different emotions of the piece, from melodically beautiful to dark and whirl, to come.

The program also contains four shorter pieces that challenge the technical virtuosity of the pianist. Below is the Etüde FIS minor, op. 25, N10 by Frédéric Chopin, who places classic technical requirements for every pianist. Sergei Rachmaninov's works, including the picture-be fis minor, op. 39 N. 3, merge musical poetry with a technical brilliance.

The evening is supplemented by the "restless" toner tea step-down "Escalier du Diable" by György Ligeti and the newer piece "Beneath Artificial Sun" by the Tyrolean composer Ralph Schutti. The latter symbolically deals with global warming and the need of the tones for more "tone juice" - an interesting and critical perspective on current global topics.

A reservation for seats can be made by email at redsalon@oestig.at or via the website www.rotersalon.at. Entry to this musical experience is on a voluntary basis, so everyone has the chance to experience the fascinating world of piano music.
