Baden Stage gets environmental signs: pioneer in sustainability
As part of a festive event in the Climate Protection Ministry in Vienna, the Baden stage was awarded the Austrian environmental label. This is an important step for the institution, which is increasingly trying to do sustainable practices in the cultural sector. This award is completed by numerous measures that are already implemented in the various areas of the stage.
The BADES BATE, with its three locations-city theater, summer Arena and Max-Reinhardt foyer-and the workshop in Traiskirchen, has made significant progress in the implementation of environmentally friendly measures. This includes not only energy -saving lighting and efficient air conditioning systems, but also 100%using renewable energy sources. This means that the entire energy consumption of the stage can be attributed to sustainable sources.
sustainable practices and measures
Another important element in the efforts to sustainability is the support of environmentally friendly mobility. Subscribers to the stage can travel to public transport free of charge, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions. In addition, the stage relies on reusable materials in stage technology and catering to minimize waste.
The stage has also changed its vehicle fleet towards electric vehicles to reduce ecological footprint. Additional projects such as planting old fruit varieties and the establishment of insect hotels show the commitment to local biodiversity and environmental protection. Such measures are continuously evaluated to identify further opportunities to improve sustainability.
Sonja Eckhardt-Moser, the sustainability officer of the stage, emphasizes the importance of feedback from employees and visitors: "We look forward to suggestions and ideas that we can implement together." This underlines the participative approach of the stage in sustainable developments.
The managing director Martina Malzer also commented on certification: "Our efforts are now officially recognized, which makes us very proud. For us it is clear that sustainability should not only be a nice idea, we want to set a sign for the future together."
The extensive measures to create a sustainable cultural enjoyment in the Baden stage are not only an example of ecological responsibility, but also an impetus for other cultural institutions to go similar paths. The step to ecologize the theater company is not only a progress for the stage itself, but can also serve as a model for the entire industry.
