In the night from Sunday to Monday, the Vienna professional fire brigade was challenged twice to delete violent fires in various districts. At first 6:30 p.m. in Vienna-Donaustadt, a large fire broke out in a residential building in the Lobauvorland. The flames, which were already visible from afar, recorded the entire facade front of the building. The firefighters, under the direction of spokesman Lukas Schauer, moved in with 25 emergency services and had to act with respiratory protection devices and two extinguishing lines from both outside and from the entrance area. A spread of the fire to the roof could be prevented thanks to a turntable ladder and intensive extinguishing measures. Just a few hours later, around 10:30 p.m., another fire alerted the emergency services - this time in Döbling, where a wooden building went on fire on a children's playground. In this situation, 27 firefighters were on duty to combat the flames that adhered to the outer walls of the building insulated with straw. Here, too, two extinguishing pipes were used, both indoors and outdoors. With the help of a thermal imaging camera, all embers were tracked down and deleted.
