In an incident in Vienna-Donaustadt, a seven-year-old boy was stolen from two young people on Saturday afternoon. The two perpetrators who are still children themselves are only twelve and 13 years old. They first pushed the boy to pull him from his scooter. Fortunately, the seven -year -old was not injured.
After the boy informed his mother, the police were alerted. The location system of the e-scooter was particularly helpful, which made it possible to quickly locate the stolen vehicle. In this way, the scooter could be found at the Meidling train station, and the two suspects were caught.
legal consequences for the perpetrators
The police have shown the two children, a twelve-year-old Turkish citizen and a 13-year-old Syrian who is not suspected of having caused damage to the e-scooter because of robbery. However, since both suspects are under 14 years old and are therefore impossible for punishment, they are not legally prosecuted. The investigation is directed by the State Criminal Police Office in Vienna, North branch, to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
These events throw a light on the topic of youth crime, which has increasingly become the focus of the public in recent years. The possibility that such young perpetrators are involved in criminal acts emphasizes the need to take prevention measures and to take responsibility.
