SPÖ Alsergrund: Saya Ahmad leads the team to the Vienna election 2025
In the run-up to the upcoming Vienna election in autumn 2025, the SPÖ Alsergrund made a pioneering decision. The party decided to re -election Saya Ahmad as a top candidate for the district council. Ahmad, district manager since 2018, was convincingly prevailed with 91.6 percent of the votes in an internal coordination that took place on November 23.
Together with her deputy, Christian Sapetschnig, Ahmad will lead the SPÖ Alsergrund into the next election. In a press release, she was pleased with the trust placed and emphasized the progress in the implementation of projects that are important for the citizens of the district.
focus on public space
"We would like to continue to work on improving our district, especially in terms of traffic and greening," said Ahmad. A central concern of the SPÖ Alsergrund is to make public space more fairer. Ahmad makes it clear that not all citizens can afford expensive vacations or secondary residences. Many would have to be satisfied with simple relaxation locations in their neighborhood, such as a tree in front of the door or a bench in the shade.
The Ahmad candidacy is part of a more comprehensive approach of the SPÖ Alsergrund, which has already achieved success in the past. Ahmad sees himself responsibility to continue the work for a livable Grätzl and to make the concerns of the residents even more heard.
In addition, the SPÖ Alsergrund also determined its candidate for the local council. With 94.40 percent, Marcus Gremel, the current children's and family spokesman for the SPÖ Vienna and district party chairman on Alsergrund, was elected as the top candidate. Gremel emphasizes the importance of the same right and good education for all children and adolescents in Vienna and sees his role as supporters of these goals.
"The overwhelming support is a drive and tailwind for the election conflict in the coming year," said Gremel. This shows not only the unity within the party, but also the commitment of the SPÖ Alsergrund to address important topics in the upcoming election.
In the coming months, the SPÖ Alsergrund will continue to work on its strategies to gain the trust and votes of voters. The focus will be on the improvement of life in the district, whereby Ahmad and Gremel hold on their vision for an inclusive and accessible city.
