V neděli byla policie vyzvána k incidentu v restauraci v devátém okrese Vídně poté, co byli do sporu zapojeni dva muži. Důstojníci policejního velení Josefstadt na místě na místě zjistili, že oba muži byli alkoholičtí.
Podle prvních informací 28letý a 57letý muž poprvé vypukl fyzický argument, ve kterém byli oba trochu zraněni. Situace však eskalovala, když mladší z těchto dvou náhle vytáhl nůž a pokusil se porušit svého soupeře.

Naštěstí se starší muž mohl vyhnout útočníkovi včas a vyrazit nůž z jeho ruky, aby nedošlo k žádné bodnutí. Samotný nůž byl později zajištěn policií, když dorazil na scénu. 28letý muž, který je za incident zodpovědný, byl dočasně zatčen.
