Respect and security: Initiative revives the neighborhood in Vienna!

The "Respect together with certainty" initiative shows that a harmonious living together in Vienna's municipal building is based on rules. Together with the neighborhood service living partner, Wiener Wohnen and the Grätzlpolizei, this project was launched in order to promote security and respect among the residents. From March 4, 2025, there will be a new series of events that will take place in a total of 18 Viennese municipal buildings and have set themselves the goal of intensifying the dialogue through the house rules and strengthening respectful coexistence. Almost 400 residents took part in exchange events in autumn 2024, in which open discussions about problems such as vandalism, waste disposal and disrespectful behavior took place. The initiative has found great echo, as Wohnservice-wien.at reported.

"A good coexistence is also characterized by consideration and compliance with agreed rules," said Vice Mayor and Councilor Kathrin Gaál. The aim of this initiative is to increase the quality of life in Vienna by actively integrating the residents into discussions and developing solutions for everyday challenges. The events offer a platform to promote respectful handling and compliance with the house rules. The first dates in 2024 were already happy and are now to be continued in order to strengthen the contact between the institutions and the residents, so press.wien.gv.at The focus is not only on regular waste disposal and respectful handling of each other, but also measures to combat vandalism and other conflicts in the living environment. The initiative presents itself as an important step towards a more pleasant and safer living climate for everyone, which is supported by direct contacts at the events. The feedback from the first round was positive and both residents and the initiators are looking forward to the continuation of these important dialogues and actions.
