Donaustadt in change: ÖVP presents visions for the future!

Donaustadt, Österreich - The ÖVP Donaustadt presented its two top candidates for the municipal council and district representation election on April 27, 2025. Caroline Hungerländer, municipal councilor and top candidate for the municipal council, and Michaela Löff, deputy district chief, presented her political visions and priorities for the district as part of a press breakfast, which is the fastest growing in Vienna with over 230,000 inhabitants. Hunger countries emphasized the need for a better infrastructure that does justice to growth without affecting the quality of life of the residents, and explained: "The Danube city must be planned as a city, with a real participation of citizens and intelligent urban development concept." This is particularly important because the district is increasingly under pressure through uncontrolled construction activities and missing offers in the public service.

Michaela Löff added that real changes are only possible in cooperation with the citizens. She criticized the current urban development, which is often carried out without sufficient citizen participation. "Politics with and for people - not over their heads," said Löff. Their efforts in the district council included initiatives such as the convening of citizens' meetings and the support of local petitions in order to meet the needs of the residents. A central concern of both candidates is to control the increasing construction through strategic planning and respectful handling of the citizens.

Focus for the future

The two top candidates presented a compact overview of their demands and objectives. Among other things, these include a legal regulation for residential construction that meets the needs of the municipality, and better public transport connections to make the district more accessible. "We love the Danube city with all its facets and want to develop it accordingly," said hunger countries and a bolver. Her campaign bears the motto "Donaustadt. Keep what we love."
