Vienna election 2025: Surprising forecast-FPÖ wins massively!

On April 27, 2025, the Viennese went to the ballots to give their vote for the local council and state parliament. The polling stations closed at 5 p.m. and the trends for election were published at 5:01 p.m. The forecasts are based on around 3,600 interviews that were carried out in advance of the election. The first trend forecast shows that the SPÖ> from Mayor Michael Ludwig with a loss of 4.6 % at 37 %. In contrast, the FPÖ under Dominik Nepp an increase from 16.4 % to 23.5 %.

The Greens have to expect a decline from 2.3 % to 12.5 %, while the ÖVP significant losses: from 20.4 % in 2020 to 11.5 % in the current forecasts. The NEOS also easily add and reach 8.5 % (+1 %). The KPÖ and the left -wing "Left Vienna" receive 4 % (+1.9 %).
