Vienna celebrates with Qwien 2.0: A cultural center for queer history!
Ramperstorffergasse 39, 1040 Wien, Österreich - Qwien 2.0 recently moved into its new residence at Ramperstorffergasse 39 in Vienna in order to act as an important cultural center. The move from Wieden was necessary because the old location no longer offered storage capacities. At the new location, Qwien 2.0 now offers enough space for future developments. With an enlarged usable area of around 900 square meters, the facility almost tripled and the number of full -time employees almost doubled to eight. The opening exhibition entitled "History. Various historical artifacts are shown, including a dedication to a lover, a baroque angel, a photo album and a beer mug. Qwien 2.0 is in conversations with the magistrate departments 7 (culture) and 13 (education and youth) to create a framework budget for the coming years. The rental agreement for the new location has a term of 30 years, which offers long -term stability. Historians and research teams are working on preserving and dealing with documents on the Nazi persecution of queer people, while the historical exhibition of Queeres Life from the Middle Ages is presented to the post-war period of the 20th century.
