State Councilor Martina Rüscher visits Dornbirner youth workshops - a strong sign of occupational health promotion

State Councilor Martina Rüscher recently visited the Dornbirn youth workshops under the direction of chairman Gerald Mathis. The youth workshops receive regular awards for their company health promotion and focus on nutrition, movement, social interaction and the equipment of their institutions.

Rüscher praised the work of the youth workshops and emphasized their significant contribution to promoting young people in Vorarlberg. In addition to manual skills, social skills are also taught and future prospects are created. The variety of services offered from wood, textile and metal workshop to garden projects was particularly highlighted.

During the visit, project manager Karlheinz Marent presented the results of the project “We design the world”, which provides for the youngsters to be involved from the start. Elmar Luger, the youth coordinator and managing director of the youth workshops, explained the development of low -threshold encounters between young people and politics as the central result of the project.

Rüscher had talks with the young people, visited the various workshops, the herbal and vegetable garden as well as the new animal pedagogical educational project with poultry. The visit ended with a homemade apple strudel, which the young people prepared together.
