Rankweil's Häusle-Villa: New forecourt becomes a car-free pedestrian zone

In Rankweil, the forecourt of the Häusle villa was declared a pedestrian zone in a far-reaching measure. This decision marks a significant change, since the square was mainly used as a access area for the school and the Church of St. Peter. The redesign now created an area that serves both pedestrians and cyclists and offers a high level of stay through architectural elements, seating and planted areas.

On October 21, the municipal board decided to permanently explain the forecourt "car -free" and only to approve access for motor vehicles in exceptions, provided that there is a special authorization. This means that pedestrians and cyclists can now use the space without restrictions. However, cyclists have to pay attention to the safety of all users at step speed.

environmental protection and traffic safety

The regulation, which is particularly associated with the driving ban, not only promotes the safe handling of each other, but also contributes to the sustainable use of the public space. This measure is part of a greater endeavor to increase the quality of life in the region and to promote climate protection. A room that serves the needs of the citizens is a step in the right direction for an environmentally friendly and livable community.
