New Year's Eve fireworks in Hohenems: Regulations for the protection of the environment!

In a new regulation for the upcoming New Year's Eve, the cities of Dornbirn and Hohenems as well as the market town of Lustenau and the municipality of Altach decided a uniform procedure. Despite the still permitted sales of fireworks, the shooting of smaller fireworks in the night of New Year is only permitted under certain conditions in order to minimize noise and environmental pollution, reported MeinDzirk.at . In Hohenems, however, there is a strict ban on fireworks along the entire Emsbach, as well as within and near churches, hospitals, as well as facilities for children and animals. The aim of these regulations is to ensure safe and quiet celebrations.

Details on the regulations

The specified bans also include the shooting of pyrotechnic products near slightly inflammatory materials, such as petrol stations. Cards with precise information on the restrictions can be found on the websites of the respective communities. Hohenems, a city in the Dornbirn district in Vorarlberg, has around 17,319 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2024) and is known for their rich history and culture, among other things through the important music festival Schubertiade, whose influence extends far beyond the city limits, as on wikipedia is described.
