Reiserevolution: Lufthansa Express Rail exceeds booking records

Lufthansa has been a remarkable increase in the use of its “Lufthansa Express Rail” service since the beginning of the year. About 432,000 travelers used this service to comfortably travel to and from Frankfurt Airport. This number exceeds the previous year's result by 28 percent in October, as the airline reports.

The airline predicts that a total of over 500,000 bookings will be pending by the end of the year. This high demand means that Lufthansa wants to further expand the supply of feeder destinations. Four new cities have been added this year, so that a total of 28 inner German cities are now connected to the Frankfurt airport network. The new feeder locations include Augsburg, Siegburg/Bonn, Wolfsburg and Essen. This means that more than twice as many cities are available compared to the current Lufthansa flight connections.

In addition, the cooperation with Deutsche Bahn plans to expand international connections. Specifically, a connection between Munich Central Station and Zurich Airport is sought to climb with the possibility for travelers, in Bregenz, Austria. The number of feeder trains is also increased: Lufthansa and Deutsche Bahn now offer over 240 daily ICE connections that can be booked on the Lufthansa flight number.

This step is particularly important because it shows how airlines and railway companies work together to make travelers a more comprehensive and flexible mobility offer. Especially in times when environmentally conscious travel is becoming increasingly important, the "Lufthansa Express Rail" offers a more practical and sustainable alternative in travel.
