New night train and extended connections: Westbahn surprises travelers!
From December 15, 2024, travelers can look forward to an improved offer from the Westbahn! The new timetable not only brings many new connections, but also more comfort for passengers. On the occasion of the Christmas traffic, the Westbahn will offer a night connection between Vienna and Salzburg for the first time and at the same time put the completely renovated western route back into operation after the damage to the flood of the century. Westbahn managing director Thomas Posch was enthusiastic: "We are very pleased that the Westbahn will open the new western route with the very first night train." This expansion will enable travelers to have a faster and more comfortable journey.
New international connections and highlights for families
The Westbahn also announces a new direct connection between Vienna and Stuttgart, which can be covered in record -breaking 6.5 hours. In addition, there will also be a stop in Legoland Germany in Günzburg in the future. Tickets are available from 28.99 euros. Particularly gratifying for families: Children between the ages of 6 and 15 travel with online bookings for only 2 euros and children under the age of 6 who are accompanied by a full adult. This makes the trip particularly inexpensive and attractive for small adventurers.
In addition, travelers benefit from an expanded national offer. The number of daily connections between Vienna and Bregenz doubles, and the travel time to Vorarlberg is significantly shortened. A new stop in Bregenz Riedenburg also offers the opportunity to switch to St. Margrethen in Switzerland. The Lake Constance region will also be connected directly to Vienna in the future. Further improvements affect the Tyrolean area with a new stop in Jenbach and a connection from Vienna to St. Johann im Pongau.
