Bregenz becomes the scene of the 11th Krampus run - an unforgettable spectacle!

in the picturesque city of Bregenz, on the banks of Lake Constance, the population is aware that winter brings a very special event. This Saturday from 7 p.m. the traditional Krampus run of the "Breagazer Bodaseetüfl" will be celebrated for the eleventh time. This unique event not only attracts locals, but also numerous tourists who want to experience the eerie spectacle up close.

up to 10,000 visitors are expected who can look forward to an impressive spectacle. And that is behind the Krampus run: Around 25 groups from different countries, including Italy, Germany, South Tyrol, Switzerland and Austria, will move through the streets with around 500 participants. The participants are not only disguised, they also wear wooden masks and heavy -weight costumes that have a lot of weight - some weigh over 25 kilograms! These costumes are intimidating, but in the sense of tradition, it is not a matter of refraining from fear.

Details and security during the event

The security of the audience is at the top at this event. The entire running route is secured by barriers and the groups are accompanied by folders, so that nobody is seriously in danger. So don't worry if you meet a Krampus - it is all friendly journeyman that help to keep tradition alive.

For those who want to experience the eerie atmosphere of the Krampus run in Bregenz, but cannot be in the city during the event, there are other ways to enjoy the customs. The local associations in Weiler-Seimmerberg are also planning a Klausen and Bärbelfähnen event from 4 to December 6th. On these days the tradition of the Klausenlauf is celebrated with mulled wine and a great atmosphere on the church square, which further promotes local culture.
