Solemn advent events in the Franciscan monastery 2024

In the contemplative period of Advent and for Christmas, the Franciscans in Bludenz organize a number of festive services and inviting celebrations that offer a valuable opportunity for encounter and community reflection. This tradition is already attracting many people who look forward to celebrating with each other and experiencing the spirit of the season.

The highlight of the program begins with a special event on Sunday, December 8th. At 6:00 p.m. there is a "contemplative-musical Advent reflection" in the Franziskanerkirche. A diverse supporting program is offered here by the Franciscan choir, the well -known Feinspitz group Musi and the dialect poet Lidwina Boso. Music and words thus become a harmonious coexistence that stimulates inner contemplation and reflection.

Advent markets in the Klosterhof

On Saturday, December 14th, visitors also expect the "Advent market" in the Klosterhof, which takes place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Here, guests can visit different stands in a festive atmosphere and acquire one or the other craftsmanship or culinary well. The entire flow of both events is donated to needy families and people with impairments, which makes the events a festive and charitable occasion.

Christmas Eve will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 24th, with a Christmas mass at 9:30 p.m. Here the Franciscan choir will support musically and initiate the celebrations. On Wednesday, December 25th, the festival service for the festival of the birth of Christ will take place at 8:00 a.m.

A special family event is scheduled for Saturday, December 28th. From 4:00 p.m., children with their parents, grandparents and friends are cordially invited to “sing in front of the crib”. This event makes it possible to share and experience the Christmas spirit by singing and celebrating together.

The annual financial statements will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 31, through a festive annual service at 5:00 p.m., followed by a festival service on New Year's Day, January 1, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. At the end of the Christmas season, another festival service with the Franciscan choir will take place on Monday, January 6, 2025, which is the highlight of the celebrations.
