Bludenz 2024: An exciting review of the city's history
Bludenz has completed 2024 with an exciting book presentation that dealt intensively with the history of the city. This ceremony was part of the “Bludenz 2024” event program, which offered the citizens and historical interested parties a variety of events, including lectures and exhibitions. The book presentation "Bludenz. A short history of the city" by Univ.-Doz. Dr. Manfred Tchaikner was a special highlight that impressively summarized the past dealing with the city's history.
In a year full of important events, such as the Austrian local archive conference, at which Bludenz acted as a host, and the summer exhibition on "50 years of town hall", the annual program offered a rich range of experiences. Mayor Simon Tschann commented positively about the program and emphasized how much the living story Bludenz ’the awareness of the citizens sharpness for their identity. "Due to the intensive examination of the past, we create a greater awareness of identity and at the same time express the look forward," emphasized Tschann.
The new edition of city history
The book presentation was not only a review, but also an informative discussion about the challenge of writing a short story. Tchaikner humorously noticed the difficulties associated with the compression of city history. The latest publication of the history sheet, which has now reached in number 150, has been revised both in terms of content and enriched with new images by Martin Caldonazzi. This book is available both in the Bludenz City Archives and in the local book trade and offers a deep insight into the development of the city for interested readers.
The history sheet 150 is available for only 20 euros. Interested parties can acquire this work in the Bludenz City Archives in the town hall (2nd floor) or in the local bookstores. The book presentation and the accompanying lectures made a significant contribution to promoting awareness and appreciation of city history. In this way, the view is thrown ahead, while the past is recognized at the same time. At a time when your history often takes a back seat, it is important to support and promote such significant events.
The year 2024 therefore stands for an intensive historical argument, but also for the cohesion of the city and its citizens, which, through dealing with their history, can develop a common feeling of identity and belonging.
