Drivers in Vorarlberg tested positively for drugs - arrest escalated
In the afternoon of November 14 of this year, officials from the Vorarlberg state transport department carried out a check to a striking driver in Fußach. The driver reacted immediately aggressively and resisted the arrest. A drug test, which was carried out, resulted in a positive result.
In the vehicle, the police discovered a can with cannabis. When they made the driver aware of it, he tried to get into his car and to flee. However, the officials were able to prevent the escape and asked him to arrest. Despite the use of foot kicks and arms on the part of the driver, the police finally managed to enforce the arrest and ensure the cannabis.
Due to the refusal to demonstrate to determine the suitability for driving, the 44-year-old man was immediately withdrawn from the driver's license. He is now reported on suspicion of various crimes in accordance with the Criminal Code and the Road Traffic Regulations at the Feldkirch public prosecutor and the Bregenz district administration.
These incidents underline the importance of a consistent approach to drug abuse in road traffic and illustrate the risks and consequences of such violations of public security.
