The Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO) reports that 53 percent of Austrians are planning to give gifts for Father's Day this year. The survey shows that around 51 percent of Viennese celebrate Father's Day in the family, while 32 percent indicate that they never celebrate the day. Another interesting detail is that 64 percent of fathers in Vienna do not expect gifts, but would be happy about them.
The desire for time together
The importance of Father's Day for many men, especially with regard to the family time together with the family, is supported by a YouGov survey. Accordingly, 43 percent of fathers in Germany want time with their children. 20 percent of fathers see their children the most important gift.
Although many fathers prefer valuable moments with the family, only 9 percent of the gifts actually give away time together. The survey also shows that 49 percent of fathers do not want gifts, a sign that emotional values are often weighted higher than material gifts.
