Tragic accident on the B 9: Car collides with a tractor -trailer - a dead man!
In a tragic traffic accident on the B 9 in Petronell Carnuntum, a 52-year-old Slovak citizen lost his life today on February 11, 2025. The man was currently on the road with a tractor-trailer that was directed by a 28-year-old Viennese. At 9:30 a.m., the deceased's vehicle came to the truck's roadway for reasons that have so far been unexplained and crashed head -on against it. The force of the impact was so strong that the left front wheel of the semitrailer was torn down and the trailer then touched the right guiding bag and finally drifted into the embankment, where it came to a standstill. The truck driver was brought to the State Clinic Hainburg/Donau with minor injuries, while the 27-year-old passenger of the car with life-threatening injuries to the university clinic Wr. traffic safety in focus
This terrible incident is in a strong contrast to a recently launched initiative to improve traffic safety in the region. The Petronell Carnunt's hunting company has dealt with the installation of new, retroreflecting wild warning films on the guidelines of the B 9, the LH211 and the L2026. Under the supervision of hunting director Johann Reinschedl, these blue foils were attached to critical points in order to reduce game accidents. A representative study shows that in areas with these special reflection films, game accidents have decreased by impressive 73.2 %.
