Tomasz Kireńczuk becomes the new head of Brut Vienna - a fresh start!

From summer 2026,

Tomasz Kireńczuk will take over the artistic direction of Brut Vienna, the renowned co -production house in the Austrian capital. Cultural City Councilor Veronica Kaup-Hasler announced this on June 2, 2025. Kireńczuk, who is currently working as head of the Santarcangelo Festival in Italy, succeeds Kira Kirsch and was selected for the local freedom based on his international experience and commitment. He will hold the position for a period of four years, starting on July 1, 2026.

The jury, which was responsible for the selection process, praised Kireńczuk's extensive expertise in the direction of cultural institutions and emphasized his focus on the promotion of artists of the free scene. Kolja Burgschuld, spokesman for the jury, commented that Kireńczuk had convinced with his passion and goal of conquering a new creative space. Kireńczuk thanked the jury for the trust and emphasized the importance of the international exchange of artists, especially in the context of the current political situation in Poland.

Tomasz Kireńczuk, born in 1983, is not only a respected curator, but also dramaturge, critic and theoretician. He is a co -founder of the Teatr Nowy in Krakow and worked from 2011 to 2019 as curator of the international theater festival "Dialog - Wrocław". He has taken over the management of the Santarcangelo Festival since 2021, where he has dealt intensively with contemporary representative art and social projects.
