Kölner Innenstadt, Deutschland - On May 8, 2025, hundreds of mourning farewell to the German rapstar Xatar, bourgeois Giwar Hajabi, took part in the Bonn north cemetery. The funeral procession was led by his widow Farvah Heidari, who wore a wooden table with her husband's death date during the ceremony. This table points out that Xatar is said to have died on May 7, 2025. But officially the musician was found dead in an apartment in Cologne city center around 6:30 p.m., as the Cologne public prosecutor confirms.

Xatars moving biography

The 43-year-old Xatar, born on December 24, 1981 in Iran, was one of the most influential figures in the German rap scene. He grew up as the son of a famous composer and a musician and quickly drew attention to himself. He became known for a spectacular gold robbery in 2009 when he attacked a gold van. After his arrest, he was sentenced to an eight -year prison sentence in 2011, from which he was released in 2014. Despite these setbacks, he continued his music career, which began in the late 1990s. His album "Baba of all Babas" reached one of the German charts in May 2015 and attracted a lot of attention.

Xatar's life was filmed by director Fatih Akin in the film “Rheingold”, which underlined its meaning in German culture. He worked not only as a musician, but also as a producer, label owner, entrepreneur and restaurateur.
